The Phones

Ever have one of those days where it seems like there is just no one with a brain, but you?  Take a look at this.  (I have changed the name of the company mentioned).

My first job outside my family was for a sandwich franchise.  I happened to be on the to-go station that day, which left me responsible for answering the phones for orders called in.

The phone rang and I answered in a pleasant and welcoming voice, "King's Bread Inc. in Weston.  How may I help you?"  The voice on the other end of the phone immediately responded in a normal voice, "Are you located in Miramar?"  ...I'm thinking, 'really, are you serious?'

Just so you have an idea, Miramar is three cities south of Weston, but I said Weston when I answered the phone.

The day gets better with another call.  When I answered I said, again in a pleasant and welcoming voice, "Thank you for calling King's Bread Inc. in Weston.  How may I help you?"  The answer I received was almost priceless.  The lady responded, "yes, are you located in Weston?"  Now I am laughing inside.  ARE YOU SERIOUS!? I even said WESTON!  What's the problem?  Of course I never said any of that.

After I helped the person on the phone and hung up I laughed about it and some co-workers asked me what was so funny and when I told them, they laughed along with me...

"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him."  Colossians 3:17

Maybe those callers would better benefit from reading Jeremiah 33:3. It's God's phone number!

I think it is normal in certain situations that pople ask questions they already heard the answer to. Maybe the prompting was not so obvious and by the time they got through to you on the correct option, tehy were kind of lost in it and forgot what they were about to say ;-)
